YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
Amon Naibei has identified his niche in the writing industry and it seems to be working for him very well. He is a writer and founder of Inspiration Hub which is an online portal where he shares inspirational and motivational articles that aims at touching peoples heart outside there especially those who are under going difficulties in their day to day life. Apart from writing, he is also a Basketball player, well you can tell that from his height, he has been playing basket ball ever since he was young and he has plans of pursuing it too. He sat down with Elvis Alphy and opened up to him about his journey, his life and the future plans that he has.

Tell us about yourself?
My name is Amon Naibei, 19 years old. I live in Eldoret town with my family. I come from a family of two where i am the first born. I have recently graduated from high school, i am an alumni of Uasin Gishu High School and right now am planning to join Zetech College to pursue communication. My Hobbies are Photography, Writing and playing Basketball.

When did you Found 'INSPIRATION HUB'?
I did found it last year on August 22nd just before my birthday. I always had the idea of opening it but i never knew it could be that soon, and since then i have been putting all my best in it.

What Inspired you or rather what motivated you to establish this online platform for inspiration messages and encouragement?
I was inspired by the love of writing, ever since i was young, i would just grab a pen and a paper then write something from no where then find people liking it so much. I once sent one of my articles to a veteran journalist and she liked it so much, then i thought, why don't i start sharing this articles with other people out there. This  opened my eyes and eventually motivated me to found it.
That's a good way to start, so tell us, how has the journey been so far? Do you face any challenges in your writing career?
The journey has been like walking in a new place where you don't know what is happening and the side strips have been interesting. Yes. the challenges have been there, "what will make us stronger if not challenges?" he joked. Sometime the people who you thought would support you draw away or even trash your efforts but again, i came to discover that there are people out there who are interested in reading great articles. Someone once told me 'where has this page been all this time' another one said, ' now i am going to read something that is going to add value to my life instead of all this garbage' its this kind of people that i always try my best to give 100% so as to deliver my level best.
Nice, we can judge from your height that you are either a Model or a Basket Ball player, Do you venture into any of them?
Hahaha , me a model, tricky sana. But you are right, i also do play Basket ball. I have been playing it since i was a little boy and it was one of my favorite sports that i did participate while in high school.
Do you take it serious like Writing?
Yes,i love basket ball so much. In it , i find identity and in writing is where i express myself. When i am in the court, i develop basketball, when i am out of the court am sharpening my skills on writing. Each has its equal love and attention.

Now what do you plan to pursue between the two?
No one has ever died trying, so i will follow what my heart wants and pursue both of them.

Do you receive good support from you parents?
Yes, i have the best parents who appreciate my talent and have always supported me from the beginning up to now.
What about you friends, Do they also play a positive role in your work?
Yes, they have always been there to support me, encourage me and motivate me.There is Pastor Jemo and his wife Patricia Wanyonyi who usually aid me with books and insights and have always challenged me to read more so that i can write much. There is Oscar Bwoma and Ian Jotham who together give me numerous pictures for stories and also financial support. Plus i wouldn't forget my friend Patricia Gunn who is also my advertiser.
What future plans do you have for both of them?
By the Grace of God, i am aiming at playing for  NBA in future and for writing, i plan to keep writing and share my articles so as to reach millions of people around the world and have a positive impact in there life.
Good plans you have, all the best, Who do you look up to, your Role Model?

She plans to pursue arts but she confessed that given a chance to go abroad, she would pursue dancing.

There is always one or two challenges that everyone faces in there day to day life and according to phoebe, challenges are their to make us stronger and she was not afraid to open up to some of the challenges that she does face in her career as an artist. One of the challenges that she faces is that most of her clients usually delay to pay her after she has drawn them while others are not serious with her work and its seen from how they even dilly dally to pay for deposit so that she may begin to draw them. She also opened up that her parents don't give her their full maximum support, they don't take her artistic skill as a serious career or job that can generate for her income, making her to do most of the things on her own.

The good thing about her artistic skill is that it does generate for her a little income. She draws people then in return, she is paid. She doesn't charge her services expensive, she charges her clients 2000sh per picture but the price is negotiable but if you want your picture to be unframed, you pay 1000sh, the other 1000sh is usually for frame. She once drew and produced an exact copy of someone and this she says was on of her biggest achievement in her career so far. Her role model when it comes to art is an artist called Ogaye Stephen whom she really looks up to. She is satisfied with the growth of our local entertainment industry saying that it is growing at a good and smooth growth.

Before I had to let her go, I had to ask about her Fashion and Style because that's what Style With Alphy is all about. She told me that she looks up to Silvia Njoki who is a fashion blogger. Well, i must say that when it comes to Fashion, Phoebe doesn't disappoint. During our Interview meeting, she came dressed in white pants, black turtle neck topping it up with a gold chain then finished the whole look with a simple pair of sandals. "Why stress yourself when its Saturday?" she joked.

Before winding up the meeting, i concluded by encouraging her that the sky is no longer the limit and that she should keep aiming higher and higher. I finished by assuring her that she has the Patience, the Strength and the Passion to achieve her ambition, her goals and her dreams, all she has to do is to try because she can do it.
